Soccer with Jordan

On Wednesday our class went to soccer with Jordan. First we did some warm up skills, such as dribbling the soccer ball with our feet. Then Jordan taught us lots of skills so we could get better at soccer.

Akira said, "I enjoyed it because I love playing games".

Cassandra said, "It was good beacause I like soccer".

Ben said, " I liked it because I got to go outside and have some fun!"

Sam said, "It was exciting because we learnt how to do new things".

Nico said, "Jordan is a good teacher".

Kobi said, " I liked having fun with Jordan".

P.J. DAY

Today almost everyone at Central School wore their pyjamas to school! P.J Day was a fundraiser for children in Cambodia who live in an orphanage.

When Chris was in our room teaching we thought of lots of words to describe sound. Then we created a colourful cloud and lightning bolts!

Oakly Came To Visit Us

On Wednesday Katrina brought Oakly to school to visit. We hadn't seen him since he was 8 weeks old. He had grown a lot!
Here is what we thought about the visit...
JAYDEN WROTE...
Oakly came to Room 9. He was bigger and less fluffy and he was soft. He licked me. He reminded me of dad and I wrestling.
KOBI WROTE...
Yesterday Oakly came to Room 9 for the afternoon. Oakly kept licking Joel, that looked funny. He reminded me of a soft, squeaky toy. He had got bigger.
MOLLY WROTE...
Yesterday Oakly came to Room 9 and sniffed everyone. He felt like a hairball. And he looked like a fluffball. He reminded me of something fake that had come to life!
AMBER WROTE...
On Wednseday Oakly came to school. He licked Joel. Oakly looked fluffy and furry. He was really excited. He remnded me of a fluffy toy. Some people got to take him for a walk. I was really excited.

END OF TERM 2 SING-ALONG

On the last day of Term 2, Jayden's Mum (Kathy), Jack's Mum (Zoe) and Nico's Mum (Kay) came to our classroom with ukeleles and a keyboard so we could have a sing-along. We all got up ad danced to "Rock Around The Clock".
Thanks so much Kay, Kathy and Zoe you were absolutely fantastic!!!!!

Josephine's Dad

Josephine's Dad came to show us how he makes sculptures that look just like real rocks. We all had a try at decorating our own rocks. Afterwards Josephine's Dad glued a magnet onto our rock so we could stick it to the fridge at home.

This morning the Pohutakawa Syndicate went into the hall to meet Robyn Belton who is an illustrator. We saw her draw a picture of Herbert on a boat with a dolphin.

On Thursday Robyn Belton came to Central School to visit us. The children wrote about her visit. Here are some of their stories.

Suter Art Gallery visit

We visited the Suter Art Gallery and made some pois.

Lucy: I liked making the poi and my Grandma's Jane and Pat were there. I didn't like the movie, it freaked me out.

Maddy: The suter trip was cool. I liked making the pois. I liked the movie it was funny because the children were getting in front of the soldiers so they couldn't destroy the world.

Jack: I liked the trip. I liked the movie even though it was a bit scary. The haka songs were a bit scary.

Room 9 training for cross country...

We have been training for cross country to work on our fitness.

Nico: I like cross country, but sometimes my legs hurt.

Molly: I am looking forward to the race. The first time I ran, I fell over on the first corner and hurt my leg.

Both: It's getting easier now we have been training for a while.

WOW...We Have A Dress Designer In Our Class!

Look at the amazing dress Lucy made. Lucy we think you are very clever. WELL DONE!

Fish Pictures

We created some awesome pictures of fish. First we looked at lots of fish pictures and then we practised drawing different fish. When we had decided which fish we would like to draw we drew it using crayon. Then we dyed our fish and the background. Last of all we used crayon to add detail. We think they look fantastic!

Ball Skills

Room 9 have been learning to throw and catch small balls, we found it tricky at the beginning but now weare REALLY good at it.
